Microfiction Monday: Cloning

Megan collected fur samples from her cat in the hopes of cloning him. She put the fur in a cup of warm water, added cat food, and looked closely each day for little legs sprouting from the thin hair. But the water never stayed warm, and the food eventually molded. And with each passing day her grandmother grew more weak and pale, until her breathing became wheezing, her eyes glossed over, and Megan was sent out of the room, holding a strand of gray hair in her hand.
