I am proud to announce that the Burnt Tongues anthology, in which my short story Paper appears, not only won the 2014 This Is Horror award for Anthology of the Year, but is also nominated for a 2014 Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in an Anthology!
Today is the official release date of the Burnt Tongues anthology! Burnt Tongues is a collection of transgressive stories hand-selected by Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club. My story “Paper” is included, which is why you should all care. Also, other talented people as well.
Read Palahniuk’s introduction to the anthology “The Power of Persisting” here.
Here’s a teaser for you from my story:
Later I’m explaining to my seat neighbor that I feel this eight-by-eleven close-up of a face with an acupuncture needle in the cheek represents how new employment is about being vulnerable to something potentially painful in the hopes it will make you better in the end.
Now, what are you waiting for?
